Comments for Yotsuba&! Volume 2Yotsuba&! Volume 2: 01/03/12
Yotsuba and her friends go to the lake to draw the wildlife. She has grand plans for drawing but she's little. So her drawing of a duck is pretty much a big scribble scrabble. She has to learn that art takes practice and her older friends are better artists than she is. There's also a chapter called Revenge that spoofs the fear that violent TV makes children violent. Yotsuba instantly on seeing a cop show goes on a rampage, pretend killing everyone she sees. It's simultaneously cute and disturbing. I have volume three and have been meaning to read it. Unfortunately it got pushed to the back of my bookshelf and it's taken me months to find it. I now have it and will be continuing with the series! Five stars. Other posts and reviews:

I went and looked on my library's catalog not very hopefully- but they have almost the entire series! That is, volumes number 1-20 with the exception of number 2. I don't get it. (I read a japanese comic series about a cat a little while ago that was missing several of the early volumes also, which annoyed me to no end). Did you review the first one here as well? Comment #2: Wednesday, January 04, 2012 at 22:41:20 Pussreboots I'm sorry to hear that volume 2 is missing from your library's collection. Can you get through an inter-library loan? If not, I still recommend reading the other volumes. The books are pretty episodic, so you won't miss any vital by not reading volume 2. © 1997-2012 Sarah Sammis
