On My Wishlist: December 17, 2011: 12/10/11
Now that I'm on vacation, I'm catching up on a bunch of reading. I've completed my GoodReads goal of reading 600 books this year.
The wishlist books I've finished in the last two weeks include: Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins, Empire State: A Love Story (Or Not) by Jason Shiga, Daddy Long Legs by Jean Webster, Hereville: How Mirka Got Her Sword by Barry Deutsch, The Storm in the Barn by Matt Phelan, Mostly Monsterly by Tammi Sauer and Scott Magoon, and Long Tail Kitty by Lark Pien. All of them were very good, so don't ask me to pick a favorite!
My wishlist is down three books to 993 books.
Upcoming wishlist reads include (they are in my hands waiting to be read):
- The Book of Tomorrow by Cecilia Ahern
- The Son of Neptune by Rick Riordan
- Penny Dreadful by Laurel Snyder
- Empire State: A Love Story (or not) by Jason Shiga
- Mornings in Jenin by Susan Abulhawa
- Extraordinary by Nancy Werlin
- The Storm in the Barn by Matt Phelan
- 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami
- The Weed That Strings the Hangman's Bag (Flavia de Luce, #2) by Alan Bradley
- Fairy Bady Day by Amanda Ashby
- The Golden Gate by Vikram Seth
- Incarceron by Catherine Fisher
The Featured Wish for December 17, 2010:
Catering to Nobody by Diane Mott Davidson
"Get ready for a smorgasbord of delicious suspense prepared by Goldy Bear, an irrepressible mistress of menus and amateur sleuth. Filled with a cast of colorful characters and superb recipes, Catering to Nobody is the first in a series that has made Diane Mott Davidson a best-selling author and the Queen of the Culinary Mystery. Goldy Bear, recently divorced, has made a home for herself and her young son in scenic Aspen Valley, Colorado. There, calls for Goldilocks Catering have been steady enough to pay the bills. But when a mourner is felled by rat poison during a funeral buffet Goldy is serving, the police quickly close her business.
"Now its up to Goldy to find the rat who has tainted her food and her reputation. Diane Mott Davidson whips up a spicy mixture of cooks and crooks, and veteran narrator Barbara Rosenblat brilliantly conveys Goldys intelligence, wit and energy. As the mystery unfolds, its tension is sweetened by delectable recipes, including Goldys Dream Cake, Dungeon Bars, and Honey Ginger Snaps."
I just finished listening to book 14 in the series, Fatally Flaky, and I'm enjoying it. I thought it would be fun to listen my way through the series from th beginning.

Wow! That is a crazy amount of books read this year, how do you do it? I barely made my goal of 75 lol. I wish I could read more or faster then maybe I wouldn't have such a huge supply over not-yet-read books. Congrats on reaching your goal!
Thanks for stopping by Book Cover Justice :)
Pussreboots
I'm down to 986 now because I picked up a bunch of books from the library. I read through about 200 of my wishlist books in 2011. I hope to continue the trend in 2012.
Catering to Nobody is an audio. I just picked up the book today from the library. I plan to listen to it while I clean house.
