What Are You Reading? What Are You Reading: November 22, 2010: 11/22/10

It's Monday! What Are You Reading, is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week. It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.

Mostly I reviewed library books last week but I did sneak in a review book and a short story from my personal collection. Most of my reading (and not shown here) has been in the form of academic journal articles. Of the books read, about a third of them are wishlist books that I checked out from the library and read. Another two thirds of them are either text books, as the semester is wrapping up, or books related to my term paper research. There was also one review book.

Finished Last Week:

  1. Blogging and RSS: A Librarian's Guide by Michael P. Sauer (library)
  2. City of Spies by Susan Kim (library)
  3. The Egg and I by Betty MacDonald (personal collection)
  4. The End of the Alphabet by C.S. Richardson (personal collection)
  5. Foundations of Library and Information Science by Richard Rubin (personal collection)
  6. Introduction to Modern Information Retrieval by G. G. Chowdhury (personal collection)
  7. The Neddiad by Daniel Pinkwater (library)
  8. Once Wicked Always Dead by T. Marie Benchley (review copy)
  9. We Blog: Publishing Online with Weblogs by Paul Bausch (library)

Currently Reading:

  1. Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery (ebook)
  2. A Fine and Private Place by Peter S. Beagle (library)
  3. Bite Me by Christopher Moore (personal collection)
  4. Food, Girls, & Other Things I Can't Have by Allen Zadoff (review copy)
  5. The Green Ripper by John D. McDonald (library)

Blogging and RSS: A Librarian's Guide sounds good...I'm going to have to grab a copy!

It's a good handbook for setting up a library blog or RSS feed but it wasn't quite on topic for my research.

Wow! A couple of those really brought back old memories. I remember reading my mom's book club edition of The Egg and I that she probably bought before I was born. And I first started reading John D. McDonald when I rode the Greyhound bus from Minneapolis to Duluth when I was in graduate school for my library degree. Thanks for bringing back some old memories. Happy reading!

It's funny how the memory of a book will attach itself to a memory of a location or an event. I just finished The Green Ripper a couple hours ago today. I can't remember why I added it to my wishlist but I enjoyed it. It was a nice break from my library science term papers!

I've really wanted to read Bite Me for some time now, always thought the series looked really funny.

Again, your week astounds me! Have a fabulous reading week, a Happy Thanksgiving (if it applies ;o) ) and thank you so much for stopping by earlier!

Holy crow, that's a lot of books! I'm impressed by how much you can go through ... how do you find the time??

Some of it is assigned reading and others were for research so I was under a time crunch to get them read. I don't watch much television which makes time for reading.
