Mailbox Monday: January 25, 2010: 01/25/10
Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week (checked out library books don't count, eBooks & audio books do). Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.
This week is my first to participate in the Monday Mailbox, although I have been receiving regular deliveries of ARCs to my mailbox for the last two years. Last Thursday's Booking Through Thursday question asked for recommendations of authors we love but haven't become household names like Dan Brown or Jane Austen. In my post I enthusiastically recommended Penny Warner.
I knew Penny Warner was a local author to me (although I didn't realize quite how local). Within a couple hours of posting, I had a very lovely response from her that included an offer to review her newest book and an invitation to the pub party for her new book. Both arrived today!
I normally randomize the reading order of ARCs I receive to give each book an equal chance at being read next. However, since I'm going to an actual party, I'll be reading Penny's book now so I'll be ready for the party in February.
I also received Size Eight in a Size Zero World by Meredth Cagen for review. I think the two book covers complement each other nicely, don't you?
