Pikmin Costume Update: 10/06/07
I am almost finished with Sean's purple pikmin costume. I just need to attach the bud and stem to the hood of his costume and I'm done.
I finished most of the costume today while we watched cartoons. I built a circular frame out of pipe cleaners and stuffed the center with cotton and then sewed the pink felt over this frame. I used more pipe cleaners to give bendable support to the purple stem. I am convinced that anything is possible with felt, pipe cleaners, cotton and a needle and thread.
While I sewed today Sean sat at my feet to supervise. He's very excited about the progress I've made on his costume.
Tomorrow the three of us will go back to the craft store to get some white and yellow felt for Harriet's costume. Fortunately Harriet's costume won't need anything more than just a flower and stem. The white pikmin being so much smaller than all the other varieties are very simplistic models.
