Comments for Fire + Ice

Fire + IceFire + Ice: 09/24/07

Last night I spent a lovely few hours with my BookCrossing friends from the Tri-Valley group. It was our first dinner together since last year's meal just before Christmas.

Ten of us showed up and we had the patio to ourselves. While the inside of the restaurant has more atmosphere, I don't think any of us wanted to sit on the high bar chairs or have to yell over the loud music. It was nice outside, not to hot and not too cold. It was also quiet other than our own giggling and the sound of traffic.

Fire + Ice is to Mongolian barbecue as P. F. Chang's is to Chinese food. The food while tasty isn't anything special (other than the coffee which is delicious!) and is over priced unless you want to eat yourself to the point of vomiting. It's not a place I'd recommend or go back to unless I was going to see my friends again.

The highlight of the night was Deb's penguin joke:

A police officer sees a man driving a truck that has ten penguins in the back. Convinced that it couldn't possibly be legal to have ten penguins in a truck, the officer pulls the truck over.

"You can't have all those penguins in the back of your truck. Go take them to the zoo."

"Okay," the man says and drives off.

The next day the police officer sees the same truck. The penguins are still there but now they're wearing sun glasses. The officer pulls the truck over again.

"I thought I told you to take them to the zoo!" the officer says.

"I did. Today I'm taking them to the beach."
