Comments for Preschool Graduation
The ceremony was held in the auditorium at a church in San Lorenzo on Bancroft street. Judy and Charlie followed us there in their car. Fortunately it was easy to find. There was parking in the lot behind the church but we ended up parking on the street. To make sure the rest of the school didn't feel left out, all the non-graduates got to participate by singing a song and even had black caps to wear. Since they got to keep their caps, the graduates were given yellow felt caps to keep when they traded in their caps and gowns at the end of the ceremony. Harriet had fun seeing all the kids but didn't want to sit on my lap. I ended up letting her sit on the cement floor. She decided the best place to sit was directly under my chair and she scooted herself there. I moved her forward a couple of times but each time she ended going right back under my seat so that's where I left her. Sean now has his diploma hanging on his bedroom wall (also yellow) just above his pillow. He's very proud of his accomplishments (as are we!). Sean will be staying an extra year at his current school for kindergarten before moving on to public school. I wonder if next year they'll have a kindergarten graduation? Lame but still cute picture."
