Booking Through Thursday

Do you read ebooks? If so, how? On your computer, or a PDA? Or are you a paper purist? Why?

The only time I read a book as an ebook is if that is my only option. My favorite site for ebooks is Project Gutenberg and I have even volunteered at the Distributed Proofreaders site to help create these Project Gutenberg etexts. I haven't done any DP work for about a year now because of changes in the process creating too much stress while I was pregnant. I might get back into the process once I have some other personal projects under control.

When I read ebooks, I read them on my ibook or sometimes on my work machine (as part of my job). I don't own a PDA.

I am mostly a "paper purist" because there are far more books available in used book stores, libraries, and so forth than in electronic form. The paper variety are also easier to read and don't require batteries. Nor are they as hard on the eyes.

Literary Feline says:
"I lean in the direction of a paper purist, but I am open to trying e-books one day, not counting the occasional short story I may read online. Selection is a huge issue for me. I like to have a wide variety of titles available to me and that just isn't the case yet with e-books. At least not in all the titles I'd like to read."

Chris says:
"For me it has to be the only option too."
