Sleet at Five Hundred Feet: 03/10/06
Snow (or at least sleet) is falling in places around the bay as low as five hundred feet
(which includes the entire Golden Gate Bridge and the high rises of the bridges). I had sleet
on my way across the bridge and the threat of black ice. At one thousand feet, the snow is
sticking: all the local mountains are dusted white including the San Carlos hills behind
where I work. Above one thousand feet, the snow is accumulating in inches but probably won't
get thicker than three inches.
