Big cities and urban landscapes play a role in my art.

Sunny Los Angeles
I took a color photograph I had snapped at MacCarther Park and sepia toned it. Ten I added some noise and the old fashioned photograph album corners. Of course the skyline in Los Angeles didn't take this form until the mid 1980s/early 1990s but it was still a fun exercise.

Back in 2001 I was a product tester for the 3DCommune and this was one of those test images. I like the colors of it but otherwise it's not one of my favorites.

Old Desk

Freeway Butterflies
After a recent rain the air was alive with butterflies. The butterflies in this piece are the "leaves" of a Bryce tree that has its branches and trunk set to 100% transparency.

Fenced In
The city is created from multiple versions of a skyscraper model by David Cole. The foreground house, park, roads and lamp are mine. As I was putting together the city block I thought of the story of the Little House by Virginia Lee Burton.

This building by David Cole reminds me a bit of the typical mid 20th century city hall. The plane, central building and surrounding skyscrapers are David's. The remaining models

I drew this piece in Photoshop. I used the pen tool to define my areas and layer my colors. As with most of my Photoshop drawings, I did most of the coloration with gradients.
