February 2008 Eggplants and Lemon I was inspired by "Lemon & Baby Aubergine" by Thaw Malin III. I went back to "Blue Poppy", a piece I did in November. I thought the bottles would look nice with my larger eggplant model. I don't think the dark setting works well here. The colors of the eggplants and the lemon don't pop enough. Created January 28-February 1, 2008 Eggplants and Lemon #2I tried again with a brighter set up. Of course the new lighting immediately brought to light all the flaws with my models and textures. Created February 2-4, 2008 Wet Red Shoes I needed a break from Bryce. The last time I drew in Photoshop was back in October when I created "Country Butter." The drawing is inspire by the red shoes that sculptor Marc Rogerson is wearing in the photo Michael Blamey posted on his Melbourne Today blog. Buy a copy of "Wet Red Shoes" to hang on your wall. Created February 4, 2008 FiveI changed the materials ever so slightly and ditched the lemon. I'm really pleased with the results! Buy a copy of "Five" to hang on your wall. Created February 5, 2008 GradientSometimes I just need to do something simple between complicated projects. Created February 10, 2008 ShamrockIn preparation for St. Patrick's Day, I created this glass bead shamrock using the same technique I did for "Coeur de Verre" in November. You can celebrate the upcoming holiday with a card and postage. Created February 20-2, 2008 Red Sock After sitting through a number of long Bryce renders, I felt the need to do an illustration in Photoshop. I really liked the bright red socks in "Red Socks 1942" a photograph posted on the Shorpy blog. So I did my best to recreate one of the red socks. You can buy this illustration as either a poster or a magnet. Created February 24, 2008 Harriet in Oregon Sean took a lovely photograph of his sister while we were at the Boardman rest stop in Oregon. I used the photograph as a reference while I drew this portrait in Photoshop. Buy a copy of "Harriet in Oregon" to hang on your wall. Created February 25, 2008 |
