March 2007 1st March March 1st is St. David's Day (patron saint of Wales). The daffodil is the national flower of Wales. In honor of my friends over there and because I was inspired by the daffodiles growing out front of Sean's preschool, I took time off from doing more Gashycrumb Tiny images to do a daffodil picture. Properly speaking though, I should have added a leek; maybe next year. Created March 1, 2007 PruePrue is the next one in the Gashlycrumb Tinies. She was trampled in a bar room brawl. Created March 7-8, 2007 Wading Planet Terrapin Nations (Challenge 21 at the 3DCommune) renders pretty quickly so I opted to do a much larger and more detailed render than I normally do. As with most of my MojoWorld renders, I chose a low altitude view that focuses on the water line. Created March 8-9, 2007 QuentinQuentin is the next one in the Gashlycrumb Tinies. He sank into a bog while hunting buterflies. Created March 11, 2007 RhodaRhoda is the next Gashlycrumb Tiny. She was consumed by fire. I decided to go with playing with fire rather than spontaneous combustion. I know that matches don't burn as I've made this one burn but I thought the exaggeration made for a better illustration. Created March 15, 2007 TornadoI made Tornado for the March "stormy spring" challenge at the 3D Commune. Created March 16, 2007 The Stream I drew "The Stream" in Illustrator using a photograph taken at Big Tree as reference. It took me three attempts to get a piece I was happy with. Created March 20, 2007 TitusTitus was "blown to bits" by a package bomb. I was reluctant to work on this one because I thought the bow would be difficult. It ended up being easy. Created March 25, 2007 UnaUna was washed down a drain. I've had compliments for this one being "brighter" than the previous Gashlycrumb Tiny renders. All of the renders are using the exact same staging and lighting. The placement of the items and the materials used on those items react differently to the set up. Created March 27, 2007 |
