San Carlos AlleySan Carlos Alley
I drew this in Photoshop. It is one of the buildings across the alley from where I work.

City HallCity Hall
This building by David Cole reminds me a bit of the typical mid 20th century city hall. The plane, central building and surrounding skyscrapers are David's. The remaining models are mine.

Capp'y Rick RetiresCapp'y Rick Retires
David Cole made the swordfish and I thought it would be fun to hang it on the wall of a really over done interior. Maybe I was tired of doing landscapes!

City HallMiami Fly-by
The buildings are all by David Cole and when they are lined up together they remind me of the fly-by establishing shots used in C.S.I. Miami. I'm not counting this piece as one of my successes but after two solid days of working on it, it doesn't seem likely to improve even with further re-rendering.

Wedding CakeWedding Cake
With Bush's stupid and hateful call again for a constitutional amendment to "protect" marriage I felt compelled to create this piece. With the exception of the table which is a reused model I created some years ago in Carrara, everything else is pure Bryce. Terrains and the rounded cylinder (in the imports preset library) lend themselves perfectly for frosting. The grooms up top are made from Bryce primatives except for the hat which I've just remembered is borrowed from last year's image.

Reaching for the SunReaching for the Sun
I drew this in Photoshop. It is some sort of weed against a bright summer's sky.

Fisherman's HideawayFisherman's Hideaway
This image popped into my mind when I saw Tigerrock's "summer house" available for download at The 3DCommune. The water plant in the front is another downloaded freebie from the Commune. The rest of the picture I created in Bryce.

ColonnadeColonnade
I drew this piece in Photoshop. I like to use gradients to add a greater sense of depth.

Field TripField Trip
Today Sean had a field trip to the Chabot Space and Science Center. In honor of the trip and all the things he's learned this month about space and our solar system, I've made "Field Trip." Except for some minor adjustments in Photoshop, this piece is comprised of Bryce primitives and terrains only.

Rear WindowRear Window
I drew this piece in Photoshop. Windows fascinate me but I'm not a real life peeping tom.

Created June 21, 2006

Red HatRed Hat
I started with a photograph of Sean as a baby and focused on an interesting spot where the red of his USC hat contrasted against the dark of the background and the yellow of his footed jammies.

Fire EscapeFire Escape
I drew this piece in Photoshop. I used the pen tool to define my areas and layer my colors. As with most of my Photoshop drawings, I did most of the coloration with gradients.

Swollen RiverSwollen River
I'm still working my way through my models by David Cole. This time I used his "country bridge." I also used Xceiverx's water plants and Frogdot's rocks. Both are 3DCommune regulars.

Fire EscapeBeach House
I drew this piece in Photoshop. I'm not satisfied with the breaking waves but it is as good as I can make it at this moment. Hopefully future drawings will look better.

Swollen RiverCalifornia Hay
Renderin created the windmill and tigerrock created the vehicle. The rest of the models are mine and were created in Carrara. The image was rendered in Bryce.

Subway CeilingSubway Ceiling
I drew this piece in Photoshop. I normally use the render lens flare option but the automatic lens flares didn't look right. I ended up faking them with some layer blending options.
