January 2006 Sushi in the New YearIt is a family tradition to ring in the new year with a plate of sushi (and other delicious foods). I've been participating with my in laws now for more than a decade. Happy New Year! Created January 3, 2006 Chest of DrawersI drew this with Photoshop to get the creative juices flowing. I feel an artistic slump coming on and I don't want it to take too strong of a hold. Created January 4, 2006 Red OvenI've done another quick Photoshop drawing to get the creative juices flowing. Created January 5, 2006 The
Mail Box We used to live in a 1914 bungalow back when we lived in South Pasadena. While our place was painted white this blue and white piece is inspired by that postage stamp sized place. It was a happy home for almost two years before we made our move to the Bay Area. Created January 6, 2006 Home from the OperaI started this piece as a new year's themed picture but it seemed more opera related than new year's related so I changed the name. No new modeling done for this piece, just some newly created materials. Created January 6, 2006 The
Train Depot Another quick Photoshop sketch to keep the creative juices flowing. Created January 9, 2006 Red
Shutters I like the use of red in architecture. I drew this in Photoshop. Created January 11, 2006 Number
14 It's a keystone over a door. I had orginally thought about drawing the door but the keystone grabbed my attention instead. Created January 17, 2006 Yellow
Door Here yellow and red play against each other in this Photoshop drawing. Created January 18, 2006 Beware
the Crocodile I am working on a fire dog for this year's lunar new year. I want to make it in the vertex editor. In the process of this project I created a head that reminded me of a crocodile, so I went with it. Created January 19, 2005 Year
of the Fire Dog The lunar new year is coming up and on the Chinese calendar, it will be the year of the fire dog. In honor of the upcoming holiday, I created this dog in Carrara's vertex editor and then rendered him in Bryce. It took me three days to complete the building of the dog. Created January 20-2, 2006 The Owl and the Bear Relax After a Hard Day's PlayingHaving been inspired by my success with creating the dog in the vertex editor, I decided to try to make Sean's favorite toy, a snowy owl, that he's had since he was a year and a half old.
