Hay BalesPut Your Right Foot In
Drawn with Photoshop. This was mostly an exercise in tonality.

The GatewayThe Gateway
I created the gateway out of two symetrical latices that use gray scale maps drawn in Photoshop. It took about an hour to draw the maps and another hour to set up the models. The render time was only a matter of minutes.

FormsForms
I was inspired by a textile pattern that features a grouping of ceramics. I had originally thought of drawing a similar pattern in Illustrator to use as a textile material in Bryce but then I decided it was the shapes of the forms that interested me more than how they were presented. Therefore I chose to recreate the forms in Carrara and bring them into Bryce. I kept my choice of matierials simple (matte gray) and used lighting to create the sense of color and environment.

SiestaSiesta
This picture is inspired by a mural that's painted on the D street wall of Hayward Mexican restaurant. I created the aloe vera and chair in Carrara. The rest is Bryce (boolean operations, presets and terrains).

Freeway ButterfliesFreeway Butterflies
After a recent rain the air was alive with butterflies. The butterflies in this piece are the "leaves" of a Bryce tree that has its branches and trunk set to 100% transparency.

New Delphi RetreatNew Delphi Retreat
Most of the architectural elements are Bryce primitives or terrains. I only used the sun for a light source although I did increase the contrast and saturation in Photoshop.

CupcakesCupcakes
Sean loves to bake and his current favorite recipe is for cupcakes. Each time we make a new batch he "designs" a new color of frosting (with my help). This Carrara/Bryce piece is inspired by our many afternoons together baking cupcakes.

If I don't post many new pictures in November, it's because I'm busy with my second year of participating in Nanowrimo.
