September 2005 Hay BalesDrawn with Photoshop and inspired by a Bryce piece I did in August. Created September 2, 2005 Hayward HillsAfter a summer hiatus from MojoWorld, I've started work on a new planet that I'm calling Hayward. Created September 3, 2005 Sierra
Madre This land form on Hayward reminds me of the mountain from The Treasure of Sierra Madre. Created September 5, 2005 Claire's RoomI put this together last night while Ian and I were discussing 3D rendering. I didn't create anything new for this piece. I was instead concerned with lighting. Created September 7, 2005 AcornsSean has been fascinated with acorns since watching My Neighbor Totoro. As fall is around the corner, the oak trees have been dropping their acorns and Sean and I have been collecting them. I gave Sean the box that Ian's cuff links came in to use as his acorn treasure box. Anyway, this picture was inspired by our recent acorn hunting trips. Created September 8, 2005 MarinSince the acorn image had been inspired by a Japanese film, I wanted to see if I could make a bowl of rice. Instead of modeling something more typically Japense to put on top of the rice I put a few slices of avocado. The image then took on a California fushion feel to it, hence the name "Marin." Created September 9, 2005 Old DeskDrew this today in Photoshop. It's typical of so many of the places I worked at in San Francisco -- those converted older buildings now serving as dot-com company head quarters. Created September 13, 2005 The Barn in SummerI drew this in Photoshop and I'm quite pleased with how the trees and the shadow on the barn turned out. Created September 14, 2005 Caps
for Sale One of Sean's favorite books at the moment is Caps for Sale by Esphyr Slobodkina. His enthusiasm for the story was my inspiration for this piece. Created September 18, 2005 Yellow OnionWe have an onion in our kitchen that has started to sprout. I thought it would make a nice modeling challenge. I created the onion with Carrara's vertex editor. Created September 19, 2005 White
Chair Drew this today in Photoshop. I like the contrast of the white against the red. Created September 21, 2005 LemonadeWe've been having an unexpected heatwave. The heat inspired this image. Someone asked me why I put the gloves in the picture. They are there to hint at days when ladies wore white gloves. Of course to make the drinks, she'd have to take them off. Created September 27, 2005 Tribeca Gentlemen's ClubIt's been a while since I've created any new furniture models. I put together these chairs while watching Smallville and CSI.
