Tutorials for 2D
and 3D

January 2002:
2002 was a very productive year for me. For the 2/3 of the year I was pregnant with my son Sean and for last third, I was a new Mom. The pregnancy part of the year certainly fueled a creative burst in me. Sean has since then taken a lot of my time and I have not been as productive as I would like. I have also returned to reading and writing as primary hobbies. Hopefully I will learn to balance all my hobbies rather than my current binge and purge approach to creativity.

Winner's Circle
Autumn
I drew this piece in Illustrator. It was based losely on a Bryce piece I was also working on.

The DeepCosmic Question
I drew this with Project Dogwaffle.

LinesNight Owl
I drew this with Pentel pens. I was just inspired to do it and it practically drew itself. This owl image is now one of Sean's favorites. He even has a shirt with it on it.

LostOasis
Here is the Bryce project that inspired the Illustrator drawing.

Snowman
I made this jolly snowman in Carrara, using metabalsl for the basic shape and smile.

LostSnowman Family
I made this snowman family in Bryce after had our first successful ultrasound.

Deja Vu (or Three Flying Carpets on Autopilot)
Another of the Project Imagination themes on the binary news group inspired this piece, as did the "deja vu" of being pregnant again. Except this time it looked like things would really work (which they did).

LostKathy's Place
I was beta testing the A Frame house for the 3DCommune Store and it reminded me so much of a place I used to stay with my parents in Idyllwild that I decided to recreate the spot from memory in Bryce.

Bisbee
My grandfather grew up in Bisbee. While I've not been to his home town, I have been to other towns like it in Arizona. There are often these abanonded homes on the fringes of these desert towns.

LostForgotten Pirate Cove
This was another project imagination piece. I like the foliage but I'm not sure about the rust material I chose for the cannon.
